| My soaps are made with a traditional cold-process
method. First, my oils are weighed and hard oils are liquefied
over low heat. Once the oils have reached a temperature of 100F,
I combine them with a mixture of lye (sodium hydroxide) and water.
It is at this point that the oils start to become soap. This process
is called saponification. Once the oil mixture has begun to thicken,
called “trace”, I add pure essential oils for scent,
and pour the soap into moulds.
